A group of 15 medical personnel from Poland will be sent today to Italy, where they will support the local authorities in the fight with the Coronavirus pandemic. Polish medics will remain in Italy until 9th April. The mission is organized by the Military Institute of Medicine in Warsaw and the Polish Center for International Aid.
During the stay in Italy, Polish medics will exchange experience with their local counterparts in how to fight the pandemic and help the society. Furthermore, Poles will gain knowledge, which will essential in order to better support civil and military authorities in their home country.
Although the coronavirus crisis in Poland is far less intensive that in Italy or most of the Western Europe, the country still awaits the main phase of fight with the pandemic, which will see even more people being confirmed as infected and much more deaths in result of the disease.
