A group of specialists from the Air Force of Azerbaijan paid a visit to several companies and factories, which are part of the country’s military-industrial complex of Russia. The Azeri delegation was toured through the production process of Su-35 and MiG-35 multirole fighter aircraft. According to the Ministry of Defense (MoD) of Azerbaijan, the visit took place ‘within the framework of military-technical cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation’.
Members of the delegation were briefed on the tactical and technical characteristics and combat capabilities of Russian-manufactured multirole fighter aircraft. They were also presented a range of weapon systems, which the aircraft can carry.
During the meeting with representatives of Rosoboronexport and a number of Russian defence manufacturers, Azeri delegation was said to have expressed interest in purchasing Russian-made combat aircraft.
