The Armament Inspectorate, which acts on behalf of the Polish Ministry of Defense (MoD) announced on 12th October, that three companies confirmed their intention to participate in the ongoing tender for new flight training simulators for future pilots of F-16 C/D Block 52+ multirole fighter aircraft.
The most favourable bid will be selected among three offers, which will be submitted by: KenBit Koeing i Wspólnicy Sp.J. acting with Virtual Reality Media A.S., Elbit Systems Ltd. and L3 Technologies Inc. Link Training & Simulation Division.
The new training system is expected to be composed of four simulator-based training stations, with an option for a fifth one.
New system will replace the currently operated one, which was acquired over 10 years ago along with the fleet of 48 F-16C/D Block 52+ multirole fighter jets. The current system has not been modified in time and in result is considered as obsolete. Its repair and upgrade are considered as too costly.
